"Shh..." Ben held his finger to his lip, looking at the offensive lamp that had dared to trip him. No, someone had decided to rearrange all the furniture on him while he had been away at the bonfire party at the river.
The soon-to-be Senior Class had gathered for a night of music, swimming, grilling and beer. However, Ben hadn't exactly mentioned that last piece to his parents.
Now did he warn them that he would be stumbling in at two in the morning.
The lights flipped on and blinded him a moment, and then he was able to make out his father on the stairs, shotgun aimed at home. His mother was only a few feet behind him, scowling.
"Awww shit..."

Date: 2009-06-19 03:01 pm (UTC)He put the shotgun down on the side of the stairs and made his way over to Ben. He could smell the beer as he got close, and that really only made him angrier. "Are you drunk?"

"This is bullshit," he muttered, storming past them and getting up the stairs with the help of the wall.

Date: 2009-06-21 04:08 am (UTC)It made Alec nervous. He hadn't really been worried through most of the day. Upset, yes, but not worried. He hadn't expected Ben to be home any time soon after that blow up. He could never remember his brother being that angry. He hoped he never saw it again.
But now evening had come and gone and they were headed into night and he was starting to pick up on his parents worry. At first he was sure his brother would be back. He had left the car keys. If Ben really wanted to go he wouldn't have given up the easiest means of escape. But now. . . if was late.
Alec pulled out his cell and didn't bother to actually call. But he figured a text message might be responded to. Asking Ben if he was okay was asking for trouble. But he figured asking if he was safe was reasonable. He sent the message and waited.

"Your parents finally trying to track you down?" She asked, trying to read over his shoulder.
"Wouldn't answer if they did. It's just Alec."
"He'll tell your parents you're here."
"I know that." Ben pondered on writing back, but he wasn't mad at his brother, and Alec could be a bit emotional at times. No need to make him think that Ben was mad at him too.
Yeah. was his quick response that he sent.

"Babe, I'm across the street. They'll see me eventually."
"Not if I keep you tucked away," Sarah smirked, leaning down to kiss him.

"Give me a sec."
Sure. busy now. he typed, then put the phone on the floor by the couch and went back to his girlfriend.
