"This blows," he muttered, tossing the ball against the wall in his room, instead of packing. Again. He refused to move again. And after the fight he had at school, he was grounded to boot. But Mom had the last say, and he was expected to just go with it.

Moving again. This time somewhere that Dean couldn’t find them.

This sucked. It sucked hardcore and the fact Ben didn’t get a say in it made him hate it all the more. Part of him wanted to just pack up his bag,hop on his bike and go out and find him. But Ben is old enough to know that he’s just a kid and a cop would find him and bring him home before he could get out of town.

He missed Dean; and it was weird because Dean really had only been around for a year. But it had been a really fun year. Dean paid attention to him and had been teaching him so many cool things. Ben was pretty sure he was the only one in his school that could rebuild a transmission. Well, sure, Dean did most of it and Ben could use more practice, but that was beyond the point. Dean and he did cool things together - guy things; things that his mother just didn’t understand.

Ben was excited to have a football game on the day after Christmas. Lisa and Dean decided to split up, and while Dean went to watch Ben play his game, she took Alec off to the malls to look at the after holiday sales.

He was really excited because Dad was there just to see him, and he wasn't distracted by Alec or Mom, and so he did his best to show off a bit since he was in the first team. He might be one of the smaller kids on the team, but he was a great tackler because he could sneak around and under people to get at their legs.

After one strong tackle, Ben got up and and looked over at his father, grinning proudly.

ooc: takes place in [livejournal.com profile] where_youfindme. Ben is age 4.

"You can cry, ain't no shame in it."
Will Smith

Ben had been excited all day for his first ever t-ball game. Daddy was sitting in the stands, watching him with a big smile on his face. They had been playing catch for weeks so Ben could be ready for this day. He was so ready to kick some butt!

He wanted to be a pitcher, but Mr. Robinson said that in T-Ball there wasn't a pitcher, and he would have to wait until he was in Little League. So instead he had second base.

Duncan was not really a nice kid on the team and Ben didn't like to play with him. But Daddy had said he needed to be nice and play with Duncan even if he was a poopy head. When it was Duncan's turn to bat, Ben was ready to catch the ball and get him out.

However, as Duncan hit the ball and started to run, he didn't drop the bat. Ben got the ball and was going to tag him out when Duncan swung the bat and the plastic bat went across Ben's face. People were yelling and Ben couldn't see because his face was hurting, but he knew the second that his Daddy's arms were around him and he curled up against his chest.

It was only when Daddy showed up did Ben start to cry too. He wasn't going to let anyone else see him cry because only babies cried. But Daddy didn't mind when Ben cried.

"I don't wanna... play nice anymore Daddy..." he sobbed, and swore that next time he got up to bat, he was gonna hit Duncan right back.
mini_dean: (Kid - Huh? Pie!)
Ben sat off to the side of the field, watching the other kids at T-Ball practice with their fathers, playing catch and practicing hitting the ball. The game was going to begin soon, and all he could do was play with the ties on his glove while he waited.

"Hey, kiddo. What's wrong?"

Ben looked up at his mother and shrugged a bit. "Nothin'. Just don't got anyone to warm up with."

Lisa smiled a bit, and went to kiss her son on the top of his head. Ben, however, shifted and got out of the way, looking at her. "Not in front of the team, Mom!"

"Ok... ok." She held her hands up. "Is there something I can do to help you warm up?"

"No. You're a mom. Moms aren't supposed to help. Dads help and Moms sit in the bleachers."

"Ben. We've been though this..."

"I know Mom." Ben rolled his eyes. "You're special because you get to be both. But you're a chick and chicks can't play ball."

"Oh really?" Lisa got up and took the baseball out of her son's glove. "Go stand out by third base."

Ben raised an eyebrow, then sighed and ran out to the base. Lisa watched him a moment, then tossed the ball to her son - overhand - so that it would reach him easily, but gentle enough not to hurt him. Ben caught the ball, then looked at his mother in shock.

"So? What you think about that?" Lisa asked him.

"That was awesome!" Ben threw the ball back, not making it all the way but it got there. "You really rock, Mom."

"I'm glad you think so," Lisa said with a smile. "So can I help now?"

Ben thought a moment, then nodded. "Sure. You're better than half the dads anyway. They only toss underhand."

That's from my birthday party!!! It was epic. There was a moon bounce filled with chicks, and a race car flags and even cars on the birthday cake that I'm eating, and I got the new AC/DC CD! And if you look at the black balloon, it has my name on it and Mom totally got them to use the letters that they use on the AC/DC covers! And see the tall guy dressed like me? That's Dean. He's totally my hero. Like, the next day he taught me how to get Ryan to give me back my gameboy. Mom wasn't really happy about that though...

And he's totally like Batman because he rescued me when I got kidnapped by changlings the next night. And I was like Robin in helping rescue the girls while he took on the big monster!

I don't know who that chick is in the background behind Dean though. Probably one of my mom's friends who only came to eat cake and leave me some crappy present.

Camping - Ben had always wanted to go camping with his father. With the boy scouts, or an RV trip with Mom cooking the fish they managed to catch.

Sitting around a campfire telling scary stories while making s'mores. Dad pretending there was a bear in the forest that would come out and get them, then crawling into his lap for safety at every cracking twig.

Falling asleep trying to count the stars, no matter how many times Mom said there were too many.

Skipping stones. Boating. Fishing. Hiking. The whole nine yards.

That would be Ben's perfect dream vacation.

Well, it's been interesting but it seems that Little!Ben has been lost in the shuffle of things, and unless the kid makes an appearance in season 4, I have a good feeling that he will be lost to the wind.

Since his adult AU is the version that is really having any interaction these days, I will be reverting this LJ into the adult's. I will still keep two kiddie icons in case the mood strikes me to do something in his voice, but otherwise this will be his 21 year old counterpart that is used in [livejournal.com profile] wayward_au.

I will keep all the old prompts, however, and if you ever want to read something from the child's voice, there will be a Little!Ben tag that you can use.

Thank you for indulging in the crack-ness of the best 8 year old on SPN. Feel free to ping me if you ever want to have him come into your sandbox and play. Just make sure there's a moon bounce there.
mini_dean: (Kid - Little Flirt)
I was the girl with the dress on who always came back in the house filthy with scrapes and bruises. But I was always very girly. I had to be able to twirl so that my underwear showed.

Lily was dancing around in the yard, twirling in her new white dress. The edges were brown and green from the grass and mud, but Ben knew as he sat on the swing that tomorrow her dress would be completely white again. It was like there was a pile of them waiting for her.

On the swing, he sat in a little white suit, trying to keep from getting dirty. Lily could get as dirty as she wanted and didn't care, but if he got anything dirty on his suit she would yell at him and he didn't like it when she yelled.

And sometimes she would get really mad at her parents, and her eyes would go white and they would apologize and get her whatever she wanted.

Lily always got whatever she wanted, which was why Ben was here still. HE wanted to go home. He knew his mommy missed him, and he missed her too, but Lily wouldn't let him go home.

She had just asked him to come over as a sleepover. She was afraid of the monster under her bed, and since ben knew how to deal with monsters, could he pretty please come over and protect her. He'd be back by morning so mommy wouldn't know he wasn't there.

That was a few weeks ago now.

Lily stopped twirling and looked at Ben. "I want to ride the swings now. Will you push me?"

"Can I go home after that?" he asked as he hopped off the swing. "My mommy is really going to be worried."

"No she isn't," Lily stated matter of fact-like as she sat on the swing and wiggled her legs. "Mommys only miss you for a few days, and then they go and get other kids."

"No way, that's so not true."

"Yes it is, Benjamin Braeden. Why do you think people adopt kids? Your mommy is going to have a new kid and not even care about you anymore. That's why you aren't going to leave. You're my best friend and I'm always going to want you. Now push me."

"No."

Lily whipped her head around to glare at him. "I said push me."

"No, you're a liar and I don't want to play with you any more. I want to go HOME."

Jumping off her swing, Lily locked eyes with Ben. "This is your home now, Ben. And if you don't play with me... then..." her eyes started to go white and a very scary smile came to her lips... "I can just have fun without you."

Ben bit his lip, trying not to whimper. "You're just being mean now."

Her eyes quickly shifted back to normal and she gave a perky smile. "I'm just teasing you, Ben! That's what friends do! Now please push me, and then I'll push you!" She hopped back on the swing, as if the whole little threat had never happened.

Without protesting, Ben got behind Lily and started to push her on the swing. If only there wasn't a huge fence around the yard - because he would just start to run home. He wasn't that far away, right? The house was just next door.
mini_dean: (Lisa - Worried)
Lisa sat in Ben's bedroom, rocking back and forth a bit in fear. She had finally gotten the police on their way, the few detectives and the news crews off her lawn. Neighbors had stopped in to check on her, and her mother wanted to drive down from Indianapolis to be with her.

But the one person she wanted in the house right now was missing, and the reason for everyone else trying to get her attention.

Saturday night she had put Ben to sleep. Sunday morning she woke up to find him gone. As were the neighbors who had just moved in next door.

The landlords tried to find the family, but all the information they had been given was fake. It was like they had never even existed, and when they had faded from this world, they had taken her son with them.

Ben's room was trashed as the police had turned it upside-down to find any evidence about his friend Lily. His computer had been taken to look through the hard drive to find anything.

The first 48 hours are the most important. And Lisa was hitting 42.

I wish Dean was here, she thought to herself, looking at the black impala Hot Wheels that Ben had insisted she buy him for Halloween. Last time Ben had gone missing, he had been the one to rescue her son. And now he was gone...

Her eyes widened and she ran downstairs to find her address book. It was a book, really, but years ago she had just stopped writing them in and now it was full of strips of paper. There was a chance that she might have...

Elle Winchester. Yes, that was the girl who had been at the funeral that Ben had sat beside. Sam's wife. She had told Lisa to call her if there was ever a problem. If she had married Sam, then she knew about all this Supernatural crap and might be able to help find her son.

Grabbing her cell phone, she dialed the number and hoped that Elle remembered her still.

Please will you wake up,
Open your eyes,
It's the first day of a new life, you'll see,
Cotton at the windows,
Pollen as the wind blows,
It's the first day of a new life with me

"So if I was going to move, would you come with me and be my friend forever, Ben?"

"But you just moved here. You're not going to leave already."

Ben and Lily sat on her porch eating Popsicles. No matter how many they ate, her mother would still give them more and more. Ben thought that Lily's mother was awesome because she always gave Lily exactly what she wanted.

Lily just started to hum a song to herself, swinging her legs back and forth. "We could totally live by a big lake that just belongs to us, and we can go swimming all the time. And there would be cookouts and ice cream sundaes every night. And I would have a firefly collection and you can collect frogs and try to scare me with them but it won't work."

"Ew, i don't like frogs."

"Little boys are supposed to like frogs." Lily looked at him a moment, almost disappointed, then looked up at the sky. "Oh, and fireworks! We could have the biggest and best firework display every night over the lake."

"But I like it here. You can just stay here. There's a big county fair at the end of the summer that you'd like, and they have fireworks."

But Lily didn't listen, and instead just hummed her song. "first day of a new life with me..."

The tooth fairy teaches children that they can sell body parts for money. >> David Richerby

"Hi Ben." Lilly skipped into the front yard where Ben was waiting. "We're going to the park today."

"Sure. But I wanna show you this!" Ben smiled, then stuck out his tongue to wiggle his front tooth. He was going to lose his first one any day now.

Lilly tilted her head and watched, then reached up and pulled the tooth out. Ben cried in pain and grabbed his mouth.

"What you do that for?" He whimpered, his tongue probing the hole that was bleeding. He put his finger up against it to try and make it stop.

"It was broken," she stated, looking at the tooth.

"But I was having fun playing with it." Now that there was a hole in his mouth, Ben was talking with a slight lisp.

"You can't play with broken things." She tossed the tooth onto the ground and turned to walk away. "I want to play. Let's go to the park."

Ben quickly reached down and grabbed his tooth, sticking it in his pocket. After all, the tooth fairy was going to give him a lot of money for that thing. Then he tested his new gap, and it had stopped bleeding.

"Wait up!" he shouted, then ran after Lilly.

Self-Conclusion - The Spill Canvas

Fade in, start the scene
Enter beautiful girl
But things are not what they seem
As we stand at the edge of the world...

School was over now, and Ben sat in the park watching moving trucks appear all over the neighborhood. Ever since October, people had been moving out of the community one by one. Rumors of the strange deaths, and the kids talking about demons had mothers scared.

New town, new start. Some had left right away, and others were leaving now that the school year was over. There was still a group, like Ben, remaining behind. Of course, Ryan had to be one of them, along with his tiny gang. However, they hadn't been touched by the demons, so they didn't believe.

Of course, there were people moving in too - ones who didn't know about the changelings and the deaths of people. Ones who were happy to move out of Indianapolis for a peaceful life. And someone was moving into the house right next door to the Braeden's.

As Ben was walking home, he stopped to see a girl his age staring up at her house with a smile on her face. Her parents were working to carry in all of their things, trying to avoid the girl that was in their way, but not asking her to move aside.

"HI!" she saw Ben and skipped over, waving and smiling. "I just moved in. Isn't my house pretty? It's the prettiest house ever!"

"It's alright," Ben replied. "I live next door. I'm Ben."

"Nice to meet you, Ben." the girl did a little curtsy. "I'm Lilly. I bet you and I are going to be great friends."

Ben stared at her, and there was just something about her eyes...

"Ben! Lunch time!" Lisa's voice echoed through the open window, and Ben shook his head.

"Sorry, that's my mom. I gotta go."

"Tomorrow you can come over and see my room. I have a princess bedroom. See you then!" With that, she skipped away, leaving Ben to shake his head, then turn to run for home.

There was a monster under Ben's bed.

It moved in sometime just after Ben had been kidnapped by the Changeling. But he didn't tell his mom because he knew that she was get scared. The Changeling had really scared his mom, and he wouldn't let her know there was a monster living under his bed.

Instead, Ben sat on his bed, a tennis racket in one hand, a flashlight in the other, and he wore a helmet. It was Friday night, and Ben was hunting.

There was a bag of Cheeto's at the end of his bed. Ben was waiting for the monster to come out and get the bag of cheese curls, and then BAM! Smack that monster's head open with the tennis racket.

Of course, it was way past Ben's bedtime, and eventually he fell asleep. When he woke up, he found out that the tennis racket and helmet were gone, and he was tucked under the covers.

The Cheeto's were gone too. However, there was a note attached to his flashlight.

Ben -

Thanks for the Cheeto's. Now that I'm not hungry, I will go somewhere else.

After that day, Ben never saw another monster again.

Wow! I get to go to Kansas tomorrow because Elle's daddy gave my mom some money to go out there so I can hold Elle's hand during the funeral. So today Mom's been running around crazy packing and told me to just stay out of her way. So I went to play outside for awhile but now it's cold and I'm hungry so I'm sitting on the computer waiting for dinner. We're getting pizza.

Anyway, I'm bored, so here's something for you to do! Elle put it up, and it's really cool.

1. Think of the first word that comes to mind when you think of me.
2. Go to http://images.google.com and search for that word.
3. Reply to this post with one of the pictures on the first page of results -- don't tell me the word.
4. Put this in your own blog so that I can do the same.

Snow days were the best days ever, in Ben's eight year old opinion. Well, that next to Christmas and his Birthday. And maybe Halloween. But still! No school, and getting to go sledding at the big hill at the end of the community. SCORE!

Plus, he gets to sleep in, which is good for him, and Lisa Braeden. It means that Lisa can take her time getting up in the morning, not rushing to make breakfast and lunch. And it means she can actually sit in the living room with a cup of tea and watch the morning talk shows.

As commercials come up, Lisa did what any person will do and flipped through the stations. She happened to pass by CNN as shots of a police building in Colorado come up. Curiosity kept her watching.

"As information continue to come in from local, we're learning more and more about the victims of yesterday's accident at the Monument police station..."

There was excited footsteps above her head as Ben jumped out of bed. He'd be wanting breakfast in a moment. Pancakes, like always.

"... identified casualties include FBI Deputy Director Steven Groves, FBI Agent Calvin Reidy, Monument local Nancy Fitzgerald, and Sheriff Melvin Dodd..."

Lisa stood up, holding out the clicker to turn the TV off. But then she stopped as an image came onto the screen. Two mugs shots, side by side.

Dean.

"... the FBI has released confirmation that the two captured felons that were also killed in the blast were Samuel and Dean Winchester, brothers from Lawrence, Kansas who were wanted in connection to a series of crimes including..."

"Mom?"

Lisa spun around and saw Ben standing behind the couch, his eyes staring at the TV. She quickly turned it off and made her way to him.

"Ben, sweetie..."

"Mom, what happened to Dean and Sam?" Brown eyes looked up at her, confused and hurting. Lisa knew her son. He was too intelligent for his age, and he knew exactly what he had heard. But he was also eight, and wanted her to tell him that it wasn't true.

Lisa couldn't lie to her son. "There was an accident, Ben."

"NO!" His scream made Lisa wince, and he ran at her, punching her stomach. "No, it's not true!"

Lisa fell to her knees, wrapping her arms around her son who stopped hitting her and started to cry into her shoulder. "I'm sorry, Ben." She held him close, closing her eyes and feeling her own tears well up. "I'm sorry..."
