mini_dean: (Lisa - Worried)

Lisa sat in Ben's bedroom, rocking back and forth a bit in fear. She had finally gotten the police on their way, the few detectives and the news crews off her lawn. Neighbors had stopped in to check on her, and her mother wanted to drive down from Indianapolis to be with her.

But the one person she wanted in the house right now was missing, and the reason for everyone else trying to get her attention.

Saturday night she had put Ben to sleep. Sunday morning she woke up to find him gone. As were the neighbors who had just moved in next door.

The landlords tried to find the family, but all the information they had been given was fake. It was like they had never even existed, and when they had faded from this world, they had taken her son with them.

Ben's room was trashed as the police had turned it upside-down to find any evidence about his friend Lily. His computer had been taken to look through the hard drive to find anything.

The first 48 hours are the most important. And Lisa was hitting 42.

I wish Dean was here, she thought to herself, looking at the black impala Hot Wheels that Ben had insisted she buy him for Halloween. Last time Ben had gone missing, he had been the one to rescue her son. And now he was gone...

Her eyes widened and she ran downstairs to find her address book. It was a book, really, but years ago she had just stopped writing them in and now it was full of strips of paper. There was a chance that she might have...

Elle Winchester. Yes, that was the girl who had been at the funeral that Ben had sat beside. Sam's wife. She had told Lisa to call her if there was ever a problem. If she had married Sam, then she knew about all this Supernatural crap and might be able to help find her son.

Grabbing her cell phone, she dialed the number and hoped that Elle remembered her still.

Elle was on the couch in Alec's house hanging her head over the edge of the cushions letting all the blood run to her head. Trouble was sitting on her hair, sleeping and she wasn't even sure how long it had taken him to go from playing with it to sleeping on it. Her feet were up against the back of the couch and she wasn't exactly comfortable but that wasn't the point of doing it in the first place. Truthfully there had been no point at all, except that she was bored.

Part of her wanted to go kick Alec in the shins and tell him that they were going to go on a hunt, but without Sam and Dean she knew she was likely to just end up at a tourist trap of some sort, or worse.

When her phone rang in her pocket Elle put her hands into her hair scooping the sleeping kitten up and putting him on her stomach as she turned around on the couch feeling the lightheaded feeling that was well worth the blood rushing to her head.

Glancing to the number she didn't really recognize it so she knew it wasn't Sam or Ruby. Flipping it open she pressed it to her ear, "Hello?"

Elle sat up a bit straighter at the tone mostly because she could recognize that sort of worry herself. Slipping Trouble off her lap she stood up and moved outside to sit on the steps. She was pretty sure Alec was out at the Needle, or up on the roof.

"Hey Lisa, yeah you called the right number. What's wrong?"

Elle took a seat on the front step leaning out a bit just to check the roof for feet hanging, but when she didn't see any she assumed the Needle to be accurate. She was sort of worried about Alec, she'd seen him come home earlier with the dress bag, and the slight daze he wandered about the place made her think that he really felt disconnected from everything.

Returning her attention to Lisa on the phone she was startled to hear that Ben was missing. She didn't know all the details from the other time he went missing, but generally she had to assume that if it was Winchester related it wasn't exactly a good thing.

Elle could hear the pain in Lisa's voice as she nodded, "You've called the police right? I mean I'm sure you have, but I just want to make sure."

She was trying to think of what the steps were, of what exactly people... parents did when their children went missing. Clearly her own father had different methods for tracking her... the dream a few months back seemed less unsettling now, but she still remembered it.

Elle nodded moving back into the house and over toward the desk grabbing a scrap of paper and a pen, jotting down a few things like that he'd been missing since Saturday night, and that the neighbors were there then gone.

When Lisa spoke of a promise she felt her chest grow tight thinking of all the promises she made to Sam... to Dean... and how she couldn't even face Sam enough to comment to his journal. Her thoughts drifted to the post he'd made... about someone after Ruby and she wondered if it was connected somehow.

"It's okay Lisa, well I mean it's probably not okay right now, but it will be. Alec's here and I know where Jo is... well at least I think she's still there."

There was a pause as Elle tried to think of what else to ask, "Do you know who the neighbors were? I mean a name or anything?"

Elle wrote down May, and then when Lisa gave the name she felt everything in her still. It was a rare feeling to be honest, all the current running beneath the surface of her skin was always humming, always that steady stream of motion and very few things could actually stop it. Sam could.

This name did too.

She didn't let her fear pass onto Lisa though she just nodded, "Well Alec is out now, but when he gets back we'll give a few people some calls, and I'll see if we can't head out to you guys. I'll give you a call when I know anything okay? You do the same for me, Lisa this is going to be okay."

She wanted to promise her, but Elle knew just how much her promises were worth these days.
